China Outbound Travel and Tourism Market (COTTM) opens successfully and with a difference
With the melody of Good Day performed by 20-membered symphony orchestra, 2007 COTTM opened at the China World Trade Center in Beijing at 10:00 on the morning of 14 May. Mr. John Koldowski, Deputy Director of Strategic Information Center of PATA, Mr. Rongming ZHONG, Deputy General Manager of China World Trade Center Co., Ltd, Mr. Douglas Emslie, President of UK Tarsus Group, and Mr. Matt Thompson, Project Director of COTTM of UK Tarsus Group attended the opening ceremony.

Mr. Douglas Emslie, Group MD of Tarsus Group, the organisers of COTTM is giving an opening speech watched by Senior Officials from PATA and the World Trade Centre in front of many dignitaries and VIP Guests

Not only the coming of summer season rose the temperature of Beijing, but also COTTM 07 brought China outbound travel heat into the open. In the China World Trade Center, COTTM07 welcomed the first group of professional visitors from tourism.

However, once inside the exhibition hall you will see the outbound travel heat as the outbound tour operators and corporate travel organisers coming from all around China are keeping the exhibitors coming from all around the world very busy. This is reflected by the queen formed in front of the very well presented stand of China Business Network and World Travel Online which assisted the organisers to invite over 500 hosted buyers.

The first day exhibition was enhanced further by the CTW Awards (China Tourists Welcome Awards) at which China Business Network won the silver in the Overall performances and 6 of our clients also won Awards namely: Puerto Rico Tourism Board, Hard Rock Café, Tanzania Tourism Board, African Network Travel and Tours, Starline Travel and Tours and Malaysia Tourism Board.

China Business Network received the Overall Performance Award for the contribution CBN has made in supporting the outbound travel from China and the dedicated supports given to many tourism promotion authorities and commercial companies in the destinations that welcome Chinese visitors.

Dr. Adam Wu of China Business Network was invited to give a presentation of the fantastic works that CBN has done in supporting outbound travel from China as well as many of the foreign tourism promotion authorities and commercial companies in the receiving destinations.

China Business Network is also supporting a number of foreign clients coming to attend the COTTM including the Mali National Office of Tourism and Hospitality i.e. Mali Tourism Boad, African Network Travel and Tours as well as Starline Travel and Tours from Ghana.
