CNTA Chairman Li Jinzao held a meeting with His Excellency Mikheil Janelidze, Vice Prime Minister cum Foreign Minister of Georgia, in Chengdu on September 14.
Li welcomed the delegation and congratulated on His Excellency Mr. Zurab Pololikashvili, current Ambassador of Georgia to Spain, for being appointed new UNWTO Secretary General. He added, “We have seen our bilateral relations improving, tourism cooperation furthering and two-way personnel exchange expanding. The World Tourism Alliance, initiated by China, has received increasing support and involvement from governments and businesses alike. We hope Georgian companies will make the best of it for common development.”
Mr. Janelidze responded by saying that, “My government highly values tourism exchange and cooperation with China and is willing to promote it under the Belt and Road Initiative. The World Tourism Alliance is a global tourism exchange platform and will play an active role among tourism companies and in international tourism affairs. We will support it and encourage our tourism companies to join it.”
Also present at the meeting were departmental heads of CNTA, Georgian ambassador to China and senior officials of the Georgian government.
