In France, the larger numbers of tourists have translated into huge economic opportunities, with Chinese spending an average of 1,300 Euros shopping in each visit.
For the second year in a row, Chinese tourists in
France spent the most of any group from a visiting country, while seeing their spending rise 60% from 2009 to 650 million Euros.
The market potential for Chinese tourism has been touted by analysts and businesses alike, which saw over 57 million Chinese take outbound trips in the year 2010. Rising incomes and a desire to visit other cultural and economic hubs have driven rates of Chinese travel abroad higher in recent years.
