2007 Beijing International Tourism Expo, with the theme of “Experiencing Beijing and Approaching Olympic Games” this year, grandly opens on June 21st in Beijing Exhibition Center.

Over the past three presentations, Beijing International Tourism Expo (BITE) has grown in size and stature, attracting quality exhibitors and buyers from the industry and capturing the Chinese outbound and inbound tourism market. BITE is the only official dedicated marketplace, proudly supported by Beijing Tourism Administration, where the global and local tourism professionals converge; providing the vital link between the booming Chinese industry and the influential needs of the global industry. For buyers, BITE will be the perfect platform to make deals with global suppliers providing a plethora of exciting and diverse range of tourism-related products and services.

Since 2002, China has risen from fifth to fourth position in the World Tourism Organization’s (WTO) rankings of top tourism destinations across the world, judged on the basis of international tourist arrivals and tourism receipts. Indeed, China’s hosting of the 2008 Olympic Games and World Expo 2010 has rekindled awareness and interest in her booming tourism market.

Today, China has been one of the world’s largest domestic tourist markets and an outbound market growing at a rate unequalled anywhere. According to the World Tourist and Travel Council (WTTC), China’s travel industry may grow by 10.4% a year over the next 10 years. The World Tourism Organization predicts that by 2020 China will be the world’s top tourist destination, and fourth in outbound tourist numbers with 100 million Chinese people traveling abroad every year.

As a highly international and professional platform for business exchanges, 2007 BITE has attracted exhibitors from 81 countries and districts around the world, which has pushed the show’s size to a massive 22,000sqm, 10,000sqm bigger compared to last year’s presentation. An impressive 68% of past exhibitors signed up to join BITE once again, with a majority of their booth space. These include country pavilions by Turkey, Russia, Korea, Syria and Italy to name a few. BITE remains attractive and relevant to exhibitors with its wide networking opportunities and excellent buyers’ program. More than 300 hosted buyers are invited and 25,000 professional audience have signed online according to the statistics of BITE committee.

2007BITE will be held three days from June 21st to 23rd. First two days are opened for professional visitors and the last day will be for common travelers.
