The upcoming Spring Festival (Feb 2-8, 2011) will see overseas tours account for a bigger market as travel-happy Chinese sign up for new destinations, analysts say.
The Spring Festival is the most important festival for the Chinese people when all family members get together, just like Christmas in the West. It is not just for the few days but gives one of the longest holiday period in China as many Chinese take much longer days off to enjoy holiday overseas.
While it is logical to think many Chinese may wish to travel to warmer destinations during the Chinese cold winter months hence apart from South East Asian destinations, Middle East and Africa are becoming increasinly popular destinations, both Europe and North America remain popular shopping destinations for the Chinese however, the really surprising choice are Nordic countries despite being colder. Of course with millions of Chinese plan their holiday overseas many destinations will see more Chinese faces with a lot of cash to spend.
