The Travel + Leisure magazine came up with a ranking of the 20 best places to travel solo, where Chile occupies the seventh place, right after countries like Norway, Switzerland, Vietnam, Costa Rica and Austria, among others.  Our country is brought out as a great nature-oriented destination, where it is possible to explore over 3,000 kilometers of desert and mountain landscapes, as well as the long coastal fringe bordering the Pacific Ocean.

 

The travel magazine affirms in its article that wherever the solo traveler goes in Chile, be it the majestic Atacama Desert or south in the Chiloe Island or Patagonia, it will always be safe and easy to get around.  For the magazine, chances are the traveler will end up as a guest at a barbecue and becoming part of a local family, one of the best ways to describe a friendly and hospitable country.

 

An important and gratifying feature to look for when traveling alone is an authentic connection with the local culture.  Travel + Leisure supported its decision on the Global Peace Index and the Happy Planet Index, this last one an alternative study on sustainable well-being that the New Economic Foundation publishes every three years.
