Torres del Paine Competes to Become the Eighth Wonder of the World
National Geographic magazine places Torres del Paine at number 5 on the list of the 100 most beautiful places in the world. Now Torres del Paine is competing with 300 other places in the category of the new 8th Wonder of the World.
The spectacular granite towers that form the huge Paine massif place this Chilean park as one of the best natural destinations on the planet. For its special value, UNESCO declared it a World Biosphere Reserve in 1978. The destination, located at the southern tip of Patagonia, is competing with 300 other places in the category of the new 8th Wonder of the World.

A special edition of the National Geographic magazine, which compiles the 100 most beautiful places in the world, places Torres del Paine at number 5 on the list and it occupies a privileged place on the cover of the magazine’s collection, in which “The Horns” and the lake of Lago Pehoé can be seen.

The publication highlights that there are no man-made towers that have the amazing majesty of the Torres del Paine massif. It also highlights the paths through native forests, emerald lakes and glaciers, and defines the "W" circuit as not to be missed.
