Vice-chairman Wang Zhifa of the CNTA Meets with Minister Bello J. Gada of the Nigerian Ministry of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation

On Mar 27, Vice-chairman Wang Zhifa of the CNTA met Minister Bello J. Gada of the Nigerian Ministry of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation and his retinue in Beijing. Both parties exchanged opinions on reinforcing the tourist communication and cooperation between both countries.

Wang Zhifa first warmly greeted the minister and his retinue on behalf of Chairman Shao Qiwei of the CNTA. Wang said that China highly regards the tourist communication with Nigeria. Due to the impact of the international financial crisis, in January and February of this year, China’s inbound tourism was influenced greatly, however, the domestic tourism kept growing. China is willing to reinforce the tourist communication and cooperation with other countries including Nigeria so as to overcome the impact of the financial crisis jointly.

Wang Zhifa introduced to the guests the main measures taken by the Chinese tourism industry to confront the financial crisis, including adjustment of the tourism development strategies, defining the development strategy of focusing on domestic tourism; assistance of the government to help tourism enterprises out of the trouble by taking a serious of tax and financial policies to relieve the difficulties of enterprise due to the financial crisis so as to keep tourism enterprises in fine operation status; organizing different regions to jointly promote tourist products by depreciation to stimulate the people to travel around.

Vice-chairman Wang Zhifa of the CNTA met Minister Bello J. Gada of the Nigerian Ministry of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation and his retinue in Beijing.

Wang Zhifa also welcomes Nigeria to the China International Tourism Trade Fair to be held in this November for promotion of Nigerian tourist produtcs.

Bello J. Gada said that Nigeria is strong in producing petroleum and its tourism resources still needs to be developed. Due to the impact of the global financial crisis, Nigeria is actively exploring new development and hopes to keep reinforcing the tourist communication and cooperation of China in the future.

Heads of relevant departments of the CNTA were also present in the meeting.
