BEIJING, Dec. 19 -- Namibia has become tourism destination for Chinese travelers, said the China National Tourism Administration Monday.
Lying in the southwest part of Africa, Namibia covers an area of 820,000 square kilometers. It is at the side of the Atlantic Ocean, with 1,600-kilometer-long coastal line. Tourism revenue accounts for some 7 percent of Namibia's gross domestic product.
By the end of October, Chinese group tourists can visit 76 overseas nations and regions. In the first 10 months of this year, the outbound number of Chinese tourists reached 25.75 million, up 8.03 percent over the same period last year.
Experts said Chinese and Namibian governments would sign a tourism memorandum of understanding on visa and travel agency issues, before Chinese residents can visit the African nation. Enditem.
