Australian budget carrier Jetstar Airways will open three international air routes connecting Zhengzhou, capital of central China's Henan Province, with three cities overseas.
The air routes, to be launched this year, will link Zhengzhou with Melbourne in Australia, and Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in Vietnam.
The air routes will carry about 60,000 Chinese passengers abroad annually, while also bringing foreign visitors.
The number of outbound tourist from Henan is rising, but a lack of direct air routes forces many tourists to transfer via Beijing or Guangzhou.
"The routes will increase Henan's recognition in the world," said Kang Shuxia, deputy general manager of Henan Airport Group.
