On Dec. 1, 2010, Assistant Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping met with Uzbek Vice Minister of Culture and Sports, who is invited by the Organizing Committee of Global Peace Tour of World-famous Chinese Artists with Their Drawings.

The two sides had a good exchange of views on a number of topics, including China-Uzbekistan relations, people-to-people and cultural exchanges and sports cooperation. The two sides agreed to execute the cultural exchange plan for 2010-2013 singed by the two countries, carry out non-governmental cultural exchange activities in various forms, expand exchanges in such areas as archaeology and cultural relics protection, deepen cooperation in arts, tourism, sports and other areas, and push forward the people-to-people and cultural cooperation.

Cheng presented the trophy of Friends of World-famous Chinese Artists to Executive Chairwoman Goulnara Karimova of the Forum of Culture and the Arts of Uzbekistan Foundation in the Uzbek delegation.
