Chinese, Brazilian will develop further deepening relationship
Chinese, Brazilian Leaders Exchange Congratulatory Messages on 35th Anniversary of Diplomatic Ties

On August 15, 2009, Chinese President Hu Jintao and his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva exchanged congratulatory messages on the 35th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

President Hu, in his message, said the relationship had developed profoundly, showing great potential and broad prospect since the establishment of diplomatic relations 35 years ago, especially since the establishment of the Sino-Brazilian strategic partnership. Against the background of the complicated and profound changes in the world's economic and political situation, strengthening the dialogue and cooperation between the two countries, honoring the consensus that had been reached and jointly coping with various global threats and challenges were in line with the basic interest and aspiration of the two peoples, Hu said. That was also conducive to maintaining and promoting peace, stability and development in the world, he added. In the years ahead, China was willing to join hands with Brazil as always to promote the Sino-Brazilian strategic partnership and to open a brighter future for diplomatic ties between the two nations, said the Chinese president.

In Lula's message, he said Brazil and China, as two big developing countries, had made a great contribution to the world that had undergone profound changes since the establishment of their diplomatic relations. He added that, on the basis of friendly cooperation, further deepening the Brazil-China strategic partnership would benefit the economic growth of the two countries and the two peoples.
