After Air China and China Southern Airlines increased their surcharges for international routes, China Eastern Airlines and Hainan Airlines also respectively adjusted their collection standards of surcharge fees for international flights.
Zhang Wei, director of air ticket business of Ctrip, said that since January 2008, China Eastern Airlines has increased surcharges from RMB312 to RMB420 in the routes from China's mainland to Asia-Pacific regions, and that for the routes from China's mainland to Oceania, North America, Europe and Africa has been increased from RMB468 to RMB600.
Hainan Airlines increased surcharges from RMB450 to RMB600 in the routes from China's mainland to Europe, North America, Africa, Oceania and the Middle East; surcharge for the routes from China mainland to Asia-Pacific regions upped from RMB300 to RMB420; surcharge for the route from Japan to China mainland increased from JPY4,100 to JPY5,900; and the surcharge for the route from China's mainland to Japan increased from RMB265 to RMB360; surcharge for the route from Hong Kong to China mainland up from HK$107 to HK$113; surcharge for the route from China's mainland to Hong Kong up from RMB107 to RMB110.
