South Korea media reports that in order to attract more tourists from China, the South Korean government is considering allowing Chinese tourists to visit the country without a visa.
This year marks the fifteenth anniversary of the establishment of a diplomatic relation between China and South Korea and is also the Sino-South Korea Culture Exchange Year. During the year, South Korea plans to attract 1.5 million tourists from China.
Earlier this year, South Korea worked out a policy that exempted visas for Chinese youth who travel in South Korea on study programs and extended the scope of visa issuances from the original business visa to international conferences, major events and cultural exchanges.
Statistics show that every year there are more than 5 million tourists traveling between China and South Korea.
