World Routes 2018 was held in Guangzhou, China from 16 – 18, September. Representatives of more than 300 airlines, 700 airport management bodies, and 130 government departments and tourism authorities from more than 110 countries and regions attended the forum.

In the first half of this year, the total number of Chinese outbound tourists reached 71.31 million, increased by 15 percent year-on-year. Therefore, it is important for Jamaica to make a play for a slice of the market through the effective marketing and increasing air connectivity with China.
How to launch an effective marketing campaign in China is another issue to discuss at World Routes 2018, as digital marketing campaign, especially social media platforms such as WeChat and Weibo, is becoming desperately important to destinations and air service providers.
Dr. Wu, CEO of World Travel Online attended the penal themed with “The power of social media marketing – How to improve your revenue” to discuss about how airports and airlines could take advantage of the trend to maximize their revenue opportunities in an increasingly competitive global marketplace, especially in China.
