Sri Lanka promotes its tourism at ATM, which is held in Dubai.
Headed by Hon. John Amaratunge, Minister of Sri Lanka Tourism, the delegation of
Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau participated in the Arabian Travel Market 2018 in Dubai, and introduced its tourism through a workshop on 23 April. Mr. Sutheash Balasubramaniam - Managing Director of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, and H.E. Mr. Charitha Yattogoda – Consul General of Sri Lanka, Dubai & Northern Emirates attended the event.

In 2017, Sri Lanka received a total of 78,873 tourists from the Middle East region with UAE as one of the fastest growing tourism markets from the region with a total of 7,136 visitors. Tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka exceeded 200,000 in February 2018, a 19.3 percent growth compared to the same period last year, mainly due to a strong rise from China, statistics from the Sri Lanka Tourism Ministry showed last month.
