Highlights of COTTM 2009

2009 China Outbound Travel and Tourism Market (COTTM2009) was held successfully during April 22-24th, 2009. 

As long standing supporters of the COTTM, China Business Network with CBN Travel Service and World Travel Online were invited again to participate and indeed played a crucial role in this 100% outbound 100% B2B event by inviting over 500 hosted buyers from all around China coming to meet with foreign exhibitors. Being the best known travel media focusing on outbound travel from China, World Travel Online reported the events to the travel trade in China in Chinese language. Here is the summary of the highlights.


   

Invited VIP guests including the Deputy Director General of CNTA attended the opening ceremony.

Hosted Buyers and trade visitors turned up in droves eager to meet up with foreign exhibitors.


Over 250 exhibitors from 55 countries including tourism boards, tourist associations, inbound travel agencies, hotels, cruise lines, destination management companies and airlines, etc. come to Beijing to exhibit in the COTTM 2009.

During COTTM, China Business Network and CBN Travel Service and World Travel Online provided necessary supports to many of the exhibiting clients such as Jamaica Tourist Board, Hard Rock Cafe, Asia Europe Tourism & Cultural Information Bureau, Voortrekker Monument, Baltic SaitasML Tours and Safaris LTD., Aberdare Safari Hotels, African Legend Safaris, Ethiopia Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and Ethiopian Airlines and British Virgin Island, Trinidad & Tobago Sightseeing Tours, Leisure West Tours & Cruises, The Big Bus Company, Central Hall Westminster, and Mantis Collection, as well as Victoria and Albert Museum, Malian office of Tourism and l Hotellery, Tanzania National Parks and Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority etc., the combined exhibiting area of 81 m2 have attracted many trade visitors and hosted buyers.

Hard Rock Café attracted lots of visitors to ask for brochures.

Major General Opperman, CEO of the Voortrekker Monument talked with the Chinese tour operators.
