Du Jiang Meets with Airbnb V.P. Chris Lehane
On September 7, CNTA vice chairman Du Jiang held a meeting with Airbnb vice president Chris Lehane in Beijing. The two exchanged views on closer tourism cooperation.
Du welcomed the guests and said, “Nowadays, tourists are no more satisfied with sightseeing alone; they are looking for something deep and personal through cross-cultural exchange. Your home-sharing service meets their demand and is popular among Chinese tourists. It is a successful example of the sharing economy. As China is vigorously boosting the inbound tourism market, your home-sharing service can help inbound tourists better understand China and give them a ‘beyond imagination’ travel experience.” He hoped that Airbnb would improve its services for Chinese tourists and suggested bringing their cooperation to a new level.
Mr. Lehane briefed Du on the latest development of his company and said, “As a player in the sharing economy and a provider of home-sharing services, we highly value the Chinese market and hope to join hands with CNTA to promote the healthy, orderly development of the whole industry.”
The two were accompanied by senior officials from CNTA Department of Tourism Promotion and International Liaison and executives from Airbnb.
