Review on 2008 Guangzhou International Travel Fair (GITF)

2008 Guangzhou International Travel Fair (GITF), held on 4th - 6th April, achieved a resounding success again and closed with extensive applause. This big event of Guangzhou has been held successfully for 15 years, and this year it’s the most internationalized one which showed great attraction to tourism circle all over the world.

   

Ceremonious opening ceremony unveiled the smartness and grace of GITF


The deputy director general of Guangdong Tourism Bureau Mr. Zheng Weibing was delivering a welcome speech on the opening ceremony.


China Business Network (CBN) and World Travel Online were also invited by the organizing committee as an exhibitor and supportive media, attended the big event.

   

Delicate and well-prepared stand of CBN and World Travel Online was welcoming visitors from all around the world.

Tour professionals and tour visitors showed great enthusiasm queuing to check in GITF.


The stand of China Business Network and World Travel Online became a focus as it showed a lot of interesting information and materials about many destinations and overseas incoming service providers all together, such as Jamaica Tourist Board, Puerto Rico Tourism Company and Office National du Tourisme de Madagascar, African Network Travel & Tours from Ghana, Africantours from Tunisia, Hard Rock Café from Europe, AQP Servicio Integral de Viajes from Peru, etc. which inspired unprecedented interests and enthusiasm of the visitors.

The stand of Tanzania showed its unique feature by setting out the background of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Charming stand of Tunis Tourism Board with main color of blue and specific layout became one of the focuses of the whole Fair.


GITF 2008 could be a new record with the acreage reached 15,025㎡, which covered not only local, national tourism committee, inbound and outbound tour agency, tour destinations and Theme parks but also tour education & training, tour media & network and even e-commerce enterprises. It gathered 23 official exhibitors from Africa, Europe, America and Asia including Tanzania, Tunisia, Egypt, Malaysia, Nepal, Switzerland, Thailand, West Australia, Spain, Indonesia, etc., and attracted 425 professional exhibitors from 36 countries and districts and received tour visitors the number of which exceeded 60 thousands. All the exhibitors regard this event as a good chance to introduce their service to both professionals as well as to the Chinese public. 

   

The magnificence of Egypt stand attracted large number of visitors who were very keen to know about its mystery.

Double towers—the design from Malaysia’s landmark buildings expressed tremendous charm to all presented visitors.


GITF 2008 provided an even larger platform to all the exhibitors for their promoting activities and seeking for business opportunities. GITF 2009 will be held on 26th – 29th March.
