Americans won't need a visa to visit Brazil if they arrive in the country between June 1 and Sept. 18. Brazil also is temporarily waiving the visa requirement for Canada, Japan and Australia.
Brazil is making the move this summer because of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, but the waiver applies to all visitors regardless if they have Olympic tickets.
Normally,
U.S. citizens must pay $160 for a Brazil visa.
Citizens from many countries are able to visit Brazil without a visa as a matter of policy, including most in Europe and all in South America.
