China And Cook Islands Sign MOU On Tourism

In Wellington, New Zealand, China and the Cook Islands have signed a memorandum of understanding on implementation plan of Chinese tour groups visiting the Cook Islands.

The Cook Islands are southern of Polynesian islands in the South Pacific. They comprise of 15 islands and covers an area of 240 square kilometers. Tourism is the major industry for the islands.

China established diplomatic relations with the Cook Islands in 1997, and granted approved destination status to the Cook Islands in 2004. The MOU will help promote bilateral exchanges and cooperation in trade, culture, aviation and other areas.
