On May, 25th, Beijing, Vice Chairman of CNTA Zhu Shanzhong met with Nagorrance Deputy Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand, and both sides exchanged ideas on issue of strengthening communication and cooperation between China and Thailand.
Zhu firstly welcomed Mr. Nagorrance’s attendance for the 10th WTTC on behalf of CNTA. He said: “China and Thailand share the common ground for cooperation between their tourism sectors, and both countries are reciprocally the source market of the other. Due to the recent instability in Thailand, China’s Thailand-bound tourists in April had decreased by 30% compared with previous year; however, Thailand is rich in tourism resources, and more Chinese tourists will go to Thailand after Thailand’s situation is restored. And China is also willing to lend support to restore Thailand’s tourism market as soon as possible”.
Nagorrance said that Thailand’s instability has impacted its national image; however, the situation has been brought under control. Thailand appreciates China’s support on Thailand’s tourism industry over the past years and hopes to enhance bilateral cooperation for better development. Lastly, Nagorrance wished the 2010 Shanghai World Expo a great success.
