AeroMexico has announced that it has formally launched a flight between Shanghai and Mexico City. This is also the company's first route to China.
The new service is operated using Boeing 777 aircraft with the capacity of 277 passengers which is currently the largest aircraft in AeroMexico's fleet. There are a total of four weekly flights on the route. Flights depart Shanghai every Thursday and Saturday and the flights from Mexico City start every Tuesday and Friday.
This new route connects Shanghai to 23 destinations in Mexico, 13 in the United States, four in South America and two in Central America. By using routes of SkyTeam member airlines, passengers of AeroMexico also can travel to other Asian countries. With the opening of the new route, Mexican travelers traveling to Shanghai do not need to transfer by San Francisco, Chicago or Tokyo; and the one way flying time is 15 hours, offering a saving of three or four hours.
