Lying on the white sand beach, savouring a cup of blue mountain coffee or a glass of rum, listening to the sounds of reggae music. It's a reverie that can be realized with an air ticket to Jamaica. The Caribbean island country has been encouraging Chinese visitors, with the message "Once you go, you know."
The Jamaican Week ended with a "Grand Jamaican Evening" hosted by the Embassy of Jamaica in the collaboration with Jamaica Tourist Board(JTB) at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Financial Street Beijing, on Wednesday night, 16th April 2008 coincided with the visit of Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett and his delegation attending COTTM.

Envoys from Jamaica and invited guests from all social circles including some senior decision makers of China's key outbound tour operators attended the gala dinner. Dr. Adam WU, COO of China Business Network(CBN) and the journalist from World Travel Online were also invited to this event.

The guests were treated to a banquet with authentic Jamaican cuisine with the participation of Paige Barrow and Omar Jackson, Jamaican chefs from Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall. Gastronomy, is simply the most sensuous way to appreciate a country. But the country's history and its people were the main attractions for Chinese during the Jamaica Week.

The evening also featured accomplished and versatile Jamaican Recording Artist A.J.Brown, bringing the "sweet sound" of Jamaica to add to the fun.

Thanks to its rich culture and timely promotion, Jamaica, an island nation of the Greater Antilles, is experiencing a growing number of tourists from China.
The Jamaica week is just a slice of the country. The ebullient people send an invitation to all Chinese, “Once you go, you know.”
