"ONCE YOU GO, YOU KNOW"- Jamaica enhances marketing activities in China’s outbound travel market

Beijing, China - - - Jamaica Tourist Board and Ministry of Tourism recently completed a week in China promotion mission, introducing Jamaica’s world famous hospitality and travel value to the rapidly growing outbound travel market of China.  

The delegation from Jamaica was led by Hon. Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism and accompanied by Director General of Tourism Mrs. Carrole A.M. Guntlley, the Director of Jamaica Tourism Board, Mr. Basil Smith and Deputy Director for Marketing, David Shields. The Jamaica week kicked off with some special events in Ritz Carlton Financial District.

The Jamaica week was enhanced by Jamaica’s participation in the COTTM i.e. China Outbound Travel and Tourism market from April 14th to 16th April. Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Edmund Bartlett was guest of Honor and invited to give a speech during the opening ceremony.

   
The Minister of Jamaica tourist Board was guest of Honor and invited to give a speech on the opening ceremony of COTTM. The Minister of Tourism accompanies by Director General of Tourism and Director of Jamaica Tourism Board received the CTW award from Prof. Alrt during the COTTM.

Minister Bartlett also received the Chinese Tourists Welcome Award on behalf of Jamaica Tourism Board for its innovative marketing approach by using the China Wide Web with Chinese web site http://www.visitjamaica.com.cn which was developed and maintained by the China Business Network. During the COTTM, the whole Jamaica stand was designed to introduce and showcase Jamaica’s unique tour value and establish sales relationships with key outbound travel agents and tour operators.

Jamaica Week celebrations in China culminated in fine style at the Ritz-Carlton Beijing with a Grand Jamaican Evening Reception and Dinner. On that great night, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett said he hoped that the Jamaica Week celebration provided an insight into what visitors from China can expect when they visit Jamaica and he used the opportunity to invite them to experience first hand the warm Jamaican hospitality because “Once You Go…You Know”.

Jamaica’s promotion activities were supported by the China Business Network(CBN). CBN is the only organization in China focusing on outbound travel from China. It offers a full range of travel industry research, consultancy, media development and representation services for global travel destinations to reach the entire outbound travel trade in China as well as millions of Chinese travelers.
