Egyptian Ambassador to China Mahmoud Allam announced in Guangzhou that EgyptAir will inaugurate its Guangzhou-Cairo direct flight on June 2.
Allam also said that they are considering opening a Consulate in Guangzhou, which will simplify the formalities for the people of Guangzhou to go to Egypt and enable them to apply for their visas in Guangzhou instead of going a long way to Beijing, Shanghai or Hong Kong.
There will be three flights per week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and the latest Boeing 777-200 wide-bodied aircraft is to be used. The flights will take off at 20:55, stopping at Bangkok, and will arrive in Cairo at 5:30 local time the next day. The total flight time will be 11 hours.
