Zimbabwe's quality of education is among the top three in Africa, according to the latest worldwide country rankings from the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), The Sunday Mail reported.
The newspaper cited the latest facts and figures from the OECD as reporting that Zimbabwe's quality of secondary education is rated the third in Africa after Tunisia and Kenya, and is ranked 39th in the world.
In the quality of maths and science education, Zimbabwe is ranked 70th in the world, and only comes after Morocco (49) and Benin (55) in Africa.
The report stressed that Zimbabwe's population of over 12 million has witnessed incredible strides in school expansion, teacher training and resource improvement. As a result, Zimbabwe continues to boast the highest literacy rate in sub-Saharan Africa and sends the fourth largest number of students from Africa to the United States.
Results of the OECD show that Zimbabwe is among the top on the continent and worldwide. The country still offers the best type of education, it added.
Zimbabwe's education consists of seven years of primary and six years of secondary schooling before students can enter universities in the country or abroad.
