China Airlines and its subsidiary Mandarin Airlines will launch Mid-Autumn Festival charter flights directly to mainland China on September 30. China Airlines flight CI 7957, using a Boeing 747-400, will depart from Taipei and arrive in Shanghai.
The flights have been fully booked to date. China Airlines has assigned senior pilots, Captain Wang Bin and First Officer Sung Chun-Hung, to fly the inaugural flight CI 7957. Also, China Airlines assigned a female co-pilot, Miss Lei Chia-Yun, to fly Mandarin Airlines inaugural flight AE 877 to Beijing.
Four Mainland Chinese carriers - Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Hainan Airlines - will entrust China Airlines to take care of their ground handling requirements at Taoyuan International Airport for the Mid-Autumn Festival charter flights on September 30 and October 7.
