Joint Tourism Promotion Event of Croatia and Slovenia was Successfully Held in Shanghai
The fifth joint tourism promotion event of Croatia and Slovenia successfully took place in Shanghai on April 8th.
With the theme of "Experience Croatia, Feel Slovenia", the joint tourism promotion event of
Croatia and
Slovenia successfully took place in Shanghai on April 8th, attracting more than 120 Chinese top tour operators and famous medias to meet over 10 leading local incoming tour service providers of Croatia and Slovenia.
The events aimed to promote the rich tourism resources of these two countries, as well as present their world famous music and culture to Chinese travel trade and potential travelers, receiving high praises from the attendees.

Data released by officials showing Croatia and Slovenia became the hottest destinations of the Chinese tourists. According to the reports by the two tourist boards, there were 42,900 Chinese tourists to Croatia and the number of overnight stays by Chinese visitors up to 64,900, increased by 30% compared with the year of 2012, while the number of Chinese tourist overnight stays in Slovenia was recorded to 29,126, and more than 19,000 Chinese tourist arrival in Slovenia in 2013. Chinese tourists represent a large market potential for Croatia and Slovenian.
Ms Mirjana Resner from Croatia National Tourist Board said Chinese tourists are most interested in Croatia's natural beauty, small towns, Croatia's gastronomy, and the seaside. This event is a great opportunity to introduce Croatia’s rich tourism resource to Chinese visitors.
Ms Karmen Novarlič, Director of Slovenian Tourist Board said: “2014 is a big year for Slovenia. The recent dramatic year on year growth in visitors from the China has had a very positive impact on the future for Slovenian tourism.”

The events also received the great supports of Croatian Embassy and Slovenian Embassy. Croatian Ambassador H.E. Mr Nebojsa Koharovic metioned all tourists wishing to travel individually must personally ask for a visa at the Embassy, while group travels will be sorted by a travel agency accredited for organizing trips to the EU. Mr Drago Napotnik, Consul. Consulate of Slovenia gave warm speech on the event, and welcomed Chinese tourist to Slovenia.
Croatia National Tourist Board and Slovenian Tourist Board will create more incentives to attract more Chinese visitors.
