2017 Silk Road Expo: New Opportunities for Tourism Industry
As the only tourism expo in China that focused on "Silk Road" , 2017 XSRITE was successfully closed on August 6.
The fourth edition of Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo (XSRITE) was held in Shaanxi province from August 4-6, with the aim to provide an ideal B2B platform for international and domestic visitors. Themed on “Cooperation and Mutual Development along the Silk Road”, XSRITE is the only tourism expo in China focused on “Silk Road”.
With an exhibition area of 40,000 square metres, the event attracted over 500 exhibitors, 400 professional buyers and approximately 70,000 public visitors from China and other 32 foreign countries. Over 6,000 B2B discussions were held and nearly one thousand agreements were signed during the 3-day event. 
World Travel Online, not only worked as a media supporter but also one of the important exhibitors of the Expo, drew a map of “the Silk Road” to made an intimate bond between Chinese travel industry players and foreign tourist destinations.

Apart from the traditional “big hits” like Cambodia, many other destinations are increasing popular in Chinese market, such as Sri Lanka in South East, Sharjah in the Middle East, along with Slovenia in Central Europe, etc. That is why more and more eyes are fixed on the travel companies and hotels that serve Chinese visitors: Golden Globe Tours (Palestine), Hotel Paris Prague (Czech), Marqués de Riscal (Spain), Nata Worldwide Travel (Kazakhstan), Dolores Travel Services(Uzbekistan), The Roman Baths, Bath (UK)…. Undoubtedly, XSRITE creates new opportunities for them to promote in Chinese travel market.
Slovenia promoted its eco-tourism to attract "Green" lovers
The Belt and Road Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping is supported by many countries. Kingdom of Cambodia was the guest of honour at XSRITE 2017. “Cambodia forever supports the issuance of the Belt and Road initiative,” said Thong Khon, minister of tourism of Kingdom of Cambodia. In addtion, Cambodia also held a promotion event for Chinese tourism and investment professionals on August 4, with the assistance of World Travel Online.
2017 Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo was attended by many distinguished guests, such as CNTA chairman Li Jinzao, UNWTO executive director Zhu Shanzhong, and so on.
