The theme of 2008 BITE is "Experience Beijing, Experience the Olympic", and the Olympic Factor was the highlight of this expo. The travel summit during and after the Olympics was the hot topic for all exhibitors and buyers to the expo.
This expo has attracted overseas exhibitors and buyers from over 80 countries regions and domestic exhibitors and buyers from 25 provinces and Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macao, in addition, there were thousands of peers and publics coming to the expo. The whole expo occupied 22,000 square meters. It's much larger than the expo before.
Chinese nationals will make 100 million overseas trips in 2015, compared with the 41 million in 2007 which is almost two and half times increase within 8 years. This confirmation put 5 years ahead of UNWTO initially predicted 100 million mark few years ago hence confirming the even faster growth rate of outbound travel from China. BITE is becoming more and more important as a internation travel platform in China.
