"China Tourism Night: Visit China & World Expo 2010" was held in Kunming

On the evening of November 19th, Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center featured brilliantly-decorated lanterns. In the song and dance performances with rich ethnic charms and modern styles, nearly a thousand Chinese and foreign guests, who attended China International Travel Mart 2009, enjoyed a happy get-together there and jointly appreciated the big feast of "China Tourism Night: Visit China & World Expo 2010" hosted by China National Tourism Administration. VIP guests from many countries and senior officers of CNTA from Chairman Shao to vice Chairmen were all present at the World Expo gala diner which kick-started the promotion of the World Expo to the world wide audience and other leaders were present at the grand event. Director Liu Kezhi (Department of Tourism Promotion and International Liaison, China National Tourism Administration) made introduction for the Expo Tour.

   

China Tourism Night for Expo 2010

Zhu Shanzhong, Vice Chairman of CNTA, gave a speech.


In his opening speach, Vice Chairman of CNTA Mr. Zhu Shanzhong said that the Expo is a great event showcasing human civilization achievement, and every World Expo has become an important station witnessing human civilization. World Expo promotes a wide range of international exchanges at a global scale, provides opportunity and stages for countries around the world to expand their horizons and display themselves, and effectively further cooperation and exchange between the participating countries and regions for the tourism industry. It can be said the hosting of World Expo 2010 Shanghai is not only an important development opportunity for China's tourism industry, but also the new vitality for the development of global tourism. By then, we will strive to achieve the goal of attracting 70 million visitors (including 35 million overseas visitors). We are willing to share development opportunities from Expo Tour with global tourism industry, make progress hand in hand, and work together to promote the recovery and development of global tourism industry.

It is reported that World Expo 2010, which will be held from May 1st to October 31st next year in Shanghai, will be another world-class event following the Beijing Olympic Games held in China. At present, 242 countries and international organizations have confirmed to participate in World Expo 2010. Now China is making all-out nationwide efforts and integrating the worldwide wisdom to push forward various preparatory work in serious and solid manner.
