Ukraine demonstrates its tourism highlights to Chinese tour operators with a Fam trip
A delegation of Chinese tour operators visited Kiev, Lviv, and Odessa in Ukraine from 2-12 April. During the trip, they visited many highlighted attractions, and more importantly, participated in the workshop to communicate with local official representatives and travel agencies.
From 2-12 April, a delegation of over 20 Chinese tour operators took a fam trip to Ukraine, visiting a number of attractions in Kiev, Lviv, and
Odessa, as well as taking site inspections to some hotels. This trip is believed to be an ideal opportunity for bilateral tourism communication between China and Ukraine. This fam trip was arranged by
Pan Ukraine, a well-known and professional tour operator based in Ukraine, and was with the assistance of
World Travel Online and
CBN Travel & MICE.
This 10-day fam trip to Ukraine was both enjoyable and productive. The Chinese delegation visited museums, galleries, Svobody Avenue, eco resorts, as well as other iconic and must-visit attractions in Ukraine. In addtion, official tourism workshops were arranged, offering a chance for Chinese tour operators to know more about the unique routes and sightseeing attractions with the detailed introduction from representatives of city administrations and local travel agencies.

An official from the Kiev said Kiev is ready to offer Chinese tourists a variety of cultural and historical tours. He said that Chinese tourists were interested in the specific buildings and architecture in Kiev, and more and more Chinese came to Kiev for a gastronomy tour. He added: “I hope that Kiev will attract 24,000 Chinese tourists in this year with the increasing cooperation between Ukraine and China.”

Ukraine tourism, along with the fam trip, received favorable reviews from the Chinese delegation. They mentioned that in addition to the rich and unique tourism resources of Ukraine, the convenient visa-on-arrival policy, the safe environment, the professional travel service team, as well as the improved infrastructure, were all selling points in Chinese travel market. They commented: “Chinese tourists are fond of the hustle-free tour, and Ukraine is able to offer it. This is the key point. After bilateral communication in the workshop, we are confident to develop more popular tour products to attract and delight Chinese tourists.”
A total of 31,114 Chinese citizens visited Ukraine last year, increasing by 51.4 percent, according to a report released by Ukraine's State Statistics Service. This marks a record in the past 10 years.
