Ctrip teams up with Merlin Entertainment on marketing

Brief: January 9, Ctrip and the world's second largest theme entertainment company Merlin Entertainment Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement.
January 9, Ctrip and the world's second largest theme entertainment company Merlin Entertainment Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement on system intergration, innovative marketing,  product diversification and other aspects of all-round cooperation, aiming to provide consumers with more choices and better service.
 
Ctrip tickets General Manager Fang Hongfeng, Merlin Entertainment Group Asia Pacific Managing Director Putnam Shin, China General Manager Chen Jie Ms. Yang Shengjun, Director of China Channel Marketing attended the ceremony in Shanghai Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.
 
 
The agreement will cover the Merlin Entertainment Group's three major tourism and entertainment brands,including : Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Chongqing ; Ocean Discovery Center and Lego Exploration Center, focus on creating the best online ticket booking process by system intergration.
 
Merlin Entertainments is the largest European entertainments company operating in UK. Merlin runs nearly 20 attractions in 23 countries across four continents,including: Coca Cola London Eye,Madame Tussauds Wax Museum,LEGO theme park,Ocean Discovery Center,The London Dungeon,Gardaland, serving more than 60million tourists every year.
 
 
In 2016, Ctrip.com alone delivered hundreds of thousands of passengers to the Merlin Entertainment Group,let alone other portals. Considering the booming of Chinese outbound tourism market, Merlin realized that something must be done to catch atttention of Chinese tourists.
 
In fact, since 2012, Melin has been working closely with Chinese outbound Tourism portal-World Travel Online on promoting their tourism brands:The London Eye; Madame Tussauds London; The Sea Life London Aquarium ; The London Dungeon in China; which offers on-line booking, and the Wechat public number of The London Eye has been launched in recent years.
 
Putnam Shin said that with the continuous development of mobile ticketing, Merlin will focus on exploring the online market.
 
He also revealed that Legoland theme park will be located in Qingpu Shanghai, and put smiles on Chinese children's face. It advocates the spirit of hands-on, interactive and sharing, which complys with the concept of combining education with recreation. Currently, There are seven opened and four upcoming Legoland theme park located in Denmark, Britain, the United States, Japan, Malaysia and other countries,each has its regional characteristics.
