Telangana rolled out a tourism roadshow in Beijing on Wednesday. Mr. B. Venketesham, Secretary of Youth affairs, Tourism & Culture Department, Ms. SMT SUNITA M.BHAGAWAT, Director of Telangana Tourism Department, and Mr. Harikrishna Mamidi, Director of Telangana Cultural Department leading the delegation to bring its rich tourism & cultural resources to Chinese tour operators. CBN Travel & MICE and
World Travel Online, presented at the event to gave great support and assistance.
Telangana is a newly formed state of India, and its capital city, Hyderabad, with a population of 6.8million, is the 5th largest city in India. Hyderabad is a travel destination with many awards. For example, annual guide of 'Traveler' magazine of National Geographic, ranked Hyderabad as the “Second best place in the World that one should see in 2015”.

Telangana has rich and varied tourism resources. Mr. B. Venketesham presented many theme tours at the event, including Luxury tourism, Heritage tourism, Mice tourism, Cultural tourism, Medical tourism, and even Religious & Spirit tourism. The audience were attractive by Mr. B. Venketesham’s speech and of course, by these travel products.
Mr. B. Venketesham said, ”In July, India launched e-tourist visa facility for China, and this move would no doubt draw more Chinese tourists. We believe the government will continue to streamline visas for Chinese.” As for the flights, he said that many cities in China had launched direct flights to New Delhi and Bombay, so that Chinese could took a connecting flight at these places. Or Chinese visitors could transit in London, Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok and other international metropolises.

According to the Ministry of Tourism Government, about 170,000 Chinese visited India last year, and it also saw a great growth in staying time and spending. The launch of “Visit India Year 2015” and “One Belt One Road” tourism strategy this year are generally believed to attract more Chinese visitors, as well as boost Indian tourism.
Telangana will launch another roadshow in Shanghai on next Monday.
