Air China will begin direct flights between Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, and Paris on Dec. 12 this year, the airline announced on Tuesday.
An Airbus A330-200 will depart from Chengdu every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday for Paris and return to Chengdu the next day. The trip will take about 11 hours.
It will be the first air route to connect Chengdu, an aviation hub for China's west, with the French capital.
In 2014, Chengdu recorded the fifth largest number of outbound tourists in China, following Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Europe is the second most popular destination for Sichuan's outbound tourists.
