There's much to contemplate in this rich, complex and delicious rioja dominated by tempranillo. An appealing full-bodied wine that's only produced in the best years; as fragrant as an old cigar box, cedary too with warm spice, menthol, mocha and almost a soy sauce aspect matched to a core of ripe plum with fine grainy tannins. While there's a fair whack of sweet toasty oak everything's integrated. Will continue to mellow for the next eight-plus years. Drinking well now if decanted; match to a chickpea tagine with chorizo.
