It is learned from Air China's southwest branch that the company will launch a direct air route from Chengdu to Bangalore in India, and will also be the first direct route to Bangalore from China.
The flight will take about five hours one way. Two flights are planned to leave Chengdu each week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with return flights on Thursdays and Sundays.
According to Air China, there main target for this route will be high-end business travelers. Since currently there is no direct air route to China, Japan or South Korea from Bangalore, Air China will try to attract Northeast Asian travelers to use this flight to get to Bangalore via its air route network.
According to Air China Southwest Branch, it will also open a direct air route to Japan soon. Also plans to launch direct routes from southwest China to Europe and the USA by 2015.
