2009 China International Travel Mart Successfully Concluded


On November 22, the 2009 China International Travel Mart consummated in Kunming. Mr. Zhu Shanzhong, Vice Chairman of the China National Tourism Administration and Vice-Director of the Organizing Committee of the 2009 China International Travel Mart presented the event as well as the awarding ceremeony. Mr. Wang Junqiang, Secretary General of Yunnan Provincial Government and Secretary General of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Yu Dingcheng, Party Secretary of Yunnan Tourism Bureau, Mr. Zhu Yunfei, Secretary General of the Organizing Committee served the review panel and granted the prizes. Mr. Liu Kezhi, Driector of the International Department of the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) and Secretary General of the Organizing Committee made his comments on the overall situation of the Fair and its characteristics. The event was chaired by Wang Yan, Deputy Director of the International Department of the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) . It was concluded that this event was significantly meaningful with obvious achievements and prospected target reached.

Statistics revealed that 67,000 persons had been received during the Fair, of whom, 35,000 were professional participants and 32, 0000 were the general public. All together 6456 contracts were signed, with 10,400 letters of intent reached; touring groups with traveling intents reached 1.49 million persons with 12.85 million copies of propaganda leaflets dispatched.

The China International Travel Mart features in four major aspects: 1). Special background and special denotations; 2). Major events were concentrated with strong media popularization initiatives; 3). Getting rid of the stale and bringing for the fresh with strong branding; and 4). The event organization was more enhanced than ever with marketalization further deepened.

Praises and awards were given to the organization units for the Best Organization, Excellent Organization, Best Advertisement, Excellent Advertisement, Best Pavilion and Excellent Pavilion. Great contributions had been made by the Yunnan Tourism Bureau, which was awarded with the Special Contribution prize.

It is learnt that the next International Travel Mart would be held from November 18 to November 21, 2010 in Shanghai.
