The Press Conference for China International Travel Mart 2009 has been held in Kunming

On November 18th, the Organizing Committee of China International Travel Mart 2009 held a press conference in Kunming. Liu Kezhi (Director, Department of Tourism Promotion and International Liaison of China National Tourism Administration), Yu Dingcheng (Chairman of Yunnan Provincial Tourism Bureau) and Cheng Meihong (Vice Chairman of Shanghai Municipal Tourism Bureau) attended the meeting and made presentations. The meeting was presided over by Wang Yan (Deputy Director, Department of Tourism Promotion and International Liaison of China National Tourism Administration). 

It is reported that China International Travel Mart, co-sponsored by China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), Yunnan Provincial People's Government and China Civil Aviation Administration has seen successful ten track records. It has become the largest comprehensive tourism exhibition with a high degree of professionalism and internationalization in Asia, which has not only become an important window for China and many countries and regions to showcase tourism resources, publicize tourism images and attract tourist source, but also has served as an important platform for contributing to tourism exchanges and cooperation at home and abroad. 

It is reported that exhibition halls for China International Travel Mart 2009 cover a total area of 50,000 square meters, with 2,148 booths in all. Under the influence of current global financial crisis and other unfavorable factors, 94 countries and regions still participate in China International Travel Mart 2009, with 180 exhibition delegations and 3,984 exhibitors. This fully demonstrates the confidence of the worldwide tourism industry on China's tourism industry, and also proves great potential of China's tourism industry has won international attention and recognition. 

China International Travel Mart 2009 is of great importance for coping with the current global financial crisis, improving the actual results from China's tourism promotion campaigns, and effectively promoting the recovery of international tourism market, which has given full play to special industrial advantages of China's tourism industry in response to the global financial crisis, and strives to stabilize and rally up China's inbound tourism market. 

The 4-day China International Travel Mart 2009 consists of professional negotiation days (November 19-20) and public visit days (November 21-22).
