The two parties exchanged views on how to strengthen the cooperation in tourism between China and Tunisia.Shao extended his warm welcome to Mrs. Chtioui and her party. He said, “China and Tunisia have had a fruitful cooperation in politics, economy and trade, and have built mutual trust and mutual support, which provides a solid basis for cooperation in tourism”, “Meanwhile, in the process of promoting modernization, both countries pay high attention to the protection of historical and cultural heritages as well as to the natural environment. I hope we can establish closer cooperation and promote more exchanges in tourism, especially in terms of passenger liners and personnel training, so as to further increase personnel exchanges. And I suggest that Tunisia make further effort on advertisement targeted at Chinese tourism market.”

Chtioui said that China and Tunisia shared a lot of common ground in social, cultural, economic and trade development. China and Tunisia were traditionally friendly countries, and both had a long history and made dramatic achievements in modernization and development. She also said that Tunisia looked forward to working with China to further strengthen tourism exchanges and cooperation as well as the friendship between the two peoples. She congratulated on the success of the Beijing Olympic Games and expressed her support to Shanghai World Expo.
