Wang Yi Meets with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communities and Minister of Defense Luis Filipe Tavares of Cape Verde
On November 6, 2017, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Communities and Minister of Defense Luis Filipe Tavares of Cape Verde.
 
 
Wang Yi said that China appreciates Cape Verde's firm adherence to friendly policy toward China. Attaching high importance to China-Cape Verde friendly cooperative relations, China is willing to, together with Cape Verde, continuously deepen bilateral political mutual trust, and enhance mutually beneficial cooperation in such five areas as maritime economy, tourism services, development of special economic zones, infrastructure construction and human resources development between both sides, in a bid to forge bilateral relations into a model for large and small countries sharing equal treatment, solidarity and cooperation.
 
Wang Yi introduced the major outcomes and great significance of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and its profound influence on the world. He expressed that China will actively implement the principle of upholding justice while pursuing shared interests and the principle of sincerity, real results, affinity and good faith put forward by President Xi Jinping, and enhance solidarity and cooperation with developing countries including Africa, so as to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results, as well as common development.
 
Luis Filipe Tavares warmly congratulated on the successful convening of the 19th CPC National Congress, and highly appraised the great development results achieved by the Chinese people under the leadership of the CPC. Luis Filipe Tavares expressed that Cape Verde and China enjoy profound traditional friendly relations. Regarding China as the most important development partner, Cape Verde is ready to be the best friend of China in Africa. Cabo Verde is willing to sincerely learn from China's development experience, and comprehensively deepen cooperation with China in politics, economy, and international and regional affairs, in a bid to jointly create a bright future for bilateral cooperation and cooperation between Africa and China.
