On October 19, Du Jiang, Vice Chairman of China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), met with Akram Zeynalli, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to China. During the meeting, the two sides discussed issues regarding tourism cooperation between the two countries.
Du Jiang said that in recent years, China and Azerbaijan have seen frequent high-level visits and deepened economic and trade exchanges, enjoying huge potential in tourism cooperation. He voiced his hope that the two could sign a MOU on Chinese group tours to Azerbaijan and organize such tours as soon as possible, and that Azerbaijan could set up more Chinese signs, improve the service of Chinese-speaking tourist guides, facilitate payments by bank card, and take other measures to create a safer and more convenient environment for Chinese tourists. He added that the Chinese side sincerely welcomes more Azerbaijani people to visit China, and is willing to work together with Azerbaijan to take bilateral tourism cooperation to a new level.
Ambassador Akram Zeynalli said that as an important country along the ancient Silk Road, Azerbaijan is a stronger supporter of the Belt and Road Initiative, always puts high value on tourism cooperation with China, and expects to receive Chinese tour groups as soon as possible to boost tourist exchanges. He added that Azerbaijan is now cooperating with neighbouring countries to develop multi-stop tourism products and routes for Chinese tourists, in the hope of making itself a popular tourist destination among Chinese people.Source: CNTA Department of Tourism Promotion and International Liaison
