On the afternoon of March 28, 2017 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met with Governor-General Patsy Reddy of New Zealand at Government House in Auckland.

 

Li Keqiang firstly conveyed President Xi Jinping's warm greetings to Governor-General Patsy Reddy. Li Keqiang pointed out that China and New Zealand share high-level political mutual trust, and the development of bilateral relations has a profound public opinion foundation. With joint efforts of both sides, the development of bilateral relations is at the forefront of China's relations with developed countries for a long time, and yields fruitful cooperation results, which not only promotes bilateral common interests, but is also conducive to peace, stability and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region.

 

Li Keqiang expressed that during the visit, I conduct in-depth, sincere and friendly exchanges with leaders of New Zealand, widely contact with people from all walks of life in New Zealand, and feel that bilateral cooperation enjoys a high complementary and that the development of bilateral relations enjoys a broad prospect. Both countries respect cultural diversity, and mutual blend of different cultures could stimulate people's wisdom and link their dreams, which will make the world more splendid. China is willing to make joint efforts with New Zealand to intensify exchanges in such areas as education, tourism and culture, so as to elevate bilateral friendship and cooperation to a higher level under the new situation.

 

Patsy Reddy warmly welcomed Premier Li Keqiang’s visit to New Zealand and wished it a complete success. Patsy Reddy said that New Zealand attaches great importance to developing friendly cooperative relations with China, and New Zealand's future closely links with China's development. New Zealand is ready to enhance exchanges and deepen cooperation with China, so as to make the development of bilateral relations better benefit the two countries and their peoples.
