Visiting Azerbaijan will become easier for Chinese tourists, according to a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China and the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding, the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan will provide a series of preferential policies for Chinese tourists. With the cooperation with Chinese tour operators, The State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan is aiming to attract more Chinese group tourists to Azerbaijan.
The preferential policies provided by the The State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan to the Chinese tourist groups are as follows:
1. The State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan will assign designated local DMCs to cooperate with the Chinese tour operators, serving the Chinese tour groups who travel to Azerbaijan.
2. The State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan will open a hotline service to provide telephone consultation for Chinese tourists.
3. The Azerbaijani government will fully accept the UnionPay and actively promote the localization of the UnionPay card business.
4. Azerbaijan's DMCs will offer the tourism safety notice and other services for the Chinese tourist groups.
5. Chinese tourists will be protected by Azerbaijani law during their trip to Azerbaijan.
" Now we can talk about a multiple increase in the number of tourists from China to Azerbaijan," Agency’s Chair Fuad Nagiyev said.
