Nine More African Countries Added for ADS for China Citizens

More tourists are going to visit Africa with the African countries promoting their travel products to attract international tourists.

A report released by the World Travel Organization shows that in the first 8 months of 2006, international tourists to Africa increased by 9.8% compared with the same period of the previous year and the increase was the most rapid in the world. WTO estimates that the total tourists that African countries receive this year will be 10.6% more than that of last year and many of these international tourists are from China.

During the China-Africa Forum held recently in Beijing, the Chinese government decided to add nine more African countries for ADS (Approved Destination Status) for China Citizens. They are Algeria, Cape Verde, Cameroon, Gabon, Rwanda, Mali, Mozambique, Benin and Nigeria.

With their addition, the ADS for Chinese citizens in Africa had reached 26. Among those countries, Egypt, Kenya, South Africa and Zimbabwe are the most popular places for Chinese tourists to visit.
