New Zealand: eVisa service will be introduced for Chinese citizens
From 4 July 2018 visa labels will no longer be issued by Immigration New Zealand (INZ). All applicants, including Chinese citizens, of approved visas, will receive an email with a letter of approval, which is an eVisa.

Visa holders should print a copy of their eVisa letter and keep it with their passport. And they can authorize other people or organizations (including health care providers and travel agents) to verify their visa details with the Visa Verification Service of INZ.

The only exception is for students using Provider Direct. INZ will review the use of labels for Provider Direct over the next year.

Employers and education providers can verify visa details with VisaView, an online system that registered users can use it to check if a person is allowed to work or study in New Zealand.

New Zealand values Chinese visitors to the country. Opening the e-Gate for Chinese, launching facilitation procedures for Chinese citizens' customs clearance in New Zealand airports, and offering multi-entry visas valid for up to five years to Chinese tourists are important measures to attract more Chinese tourists to New Zealand.

According to the country's statistics department Stats NZ, New Zeland saw 30,500 visitors from China in May, up 3,000 year on year. Now, China is the second largest source of visitors to New Zealand for the month, behind Australia.
