"Night of Argentina and Brazil" shines in Shanghai during ITB China
During ITB China, scheduled from 16 to 18 May in Shanghai, INPROTUR and EMBRATUR teamed up to hold a joint tourism roadshow on the evening of 17 May, to attract more visitors from Eastern China. Supported by Consulate General of the Argentine Republic and the Federative Republic of Brazil in Shanghai, this event attracted over 200 tour operators, Airlines and 30 media. World Travel Online and CBN Travel & MICE assisted the event, and CEO – Dr. Adam Wu was the moderate of the Night.

In 2017, Argentina received over 60,000 Chinese people, a 13 percent increase compared with 2016. Three factors are considered as the main driver to attract Chinese tourists: the well-known “End of the World” Ushuaia and exotic features, the more friendly visa-policy for Chinese, as well as the shorter journey from China to Argentina since the direct flight from China to the Caribbean.

Ms. María Virginia Yapur, a Shanghai based consul of Argentina in charge of tourism, was introducing the detailed visa policy of ArgentinaMr. Jean R. M. Taruhn, Consul at Consulate General of Brazil in Shanghai, said that applying for Brazil visa was not difficult for Chinese
 
In Brazil market, China rose four places on the list of the main sources of tourists for Brazil from 2016 to 2017, from 21st to 17th place, with most of the Chinese visiting Brazil doing so for business (69%), with those travelling for leisure accounting for 23% of the total. In the future, the Brazilian government will adopt "a more flexible policy in terms of the visa demands for China tourists”.
 
Iguassu CVB executive director Basileu Tavares highlighted the importance of the event for the growth of international tourism in Iguassu, mainly due to the potential of the Chinese issuing market.

Argentina and Brazil are close neighbors; they share the famous Iguazu falls along their mutual border. Chinese people have already felt the benefits of simplified visiting procedures as those who have the United States or European Union visa can easily secure a visa for Argentina through an electronic procedure. In the future, more policies like this will benefit Chinese visitors.
