Director of Qatar Tourism Authority's offices in China said Friday the number of Chinese tourists to the State of Qatar in the past four months has reached about 20,000, a rise of 68 percent over the same period last year.
The director said today in a meeting with a Qatari media delegation in Beijing that QTA has three offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, all of which are actively promoting Qatar as an attractive tourist destination.
He also referred to the efforts of the three offices to promote tourism in Qatar and to introduce the facilities and tourist attractions provided by the State to tourists wishing to visit, spend their business and holidays.
He explained that these events include organizing trips for some of travel and tourism agencies to visit Qatar, and to be closely acquainted with its advantages and tourist attractions. He pointed out that the offices of the Commission in China follow these trips and when do they go to Qatar and when do they return back to China, as well as the level of their satisfaction with those visits.
He noted that the Chinese side praised the availability of many tourist benefits, including the cancellation of entry visas for citizens of dozens of countries.
