Vancouver Airport Adds Sixth Chinese Air Carrier with Direct Link to Mainland China
Officials said Beijing Capital Airlines, a tourism-and-leisure-focused carrier, will begin flying between Vancouver and the Chinese city of Hangzhou, site of the G20 summit next month, with a stop in Qingdao, starting Dec. 30.

The Vancouver International Airport will welcome a sixth air carrier from Mainland China, two more than any other North American airport, at the end of the year.
Officials said Beijing Capital Airlines, a tourism-and-leisure-focused carrier, will begin flying between Vancouver and the Chinese city of Hangzhou, site of the G20 summit next month, with a stop in Qingdao, starting Dec. 30.
The thrice-weekly flights will be flown using Airbus 330 aircraft and will depart YVR at 4:30 p.m., arriving in China at 7:40 p.m. the next evening. It is Beijing Capital’s first North American route.
On July 25, Xiamen Airlines began direct service to YVR, joining Air China (Beijing), China Eastern (Shanghai-Pudong), China Southern (Guangzhou) and Sichuan Airlines (Chengdu, Shenyang) as Chinese airlines serving the Vancouver to Mainland China market.
